A Note from our Senior Pastor

It seems that with each new day another area of our lives has either been disrupted or put on hold.  Not only have we learned that the area Y's have been closed as of today, but after learning of a friend's death last night, many funeral homes are complying with the government's orders and holding only private funeral services for family alone.  So much of life is going to be different until the situation is under control. Because of this, it’s very easy to join the world in fear and panic.

But as believers, we're called to a higher plain!  2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and a sound mind."   Even in this time, God is so good!  And He has given us what it takes to rise above our fear - His presence and His grace! But God has also given us something else.  I heard a pastor say that for years we have been praying for revival.  And that's so true.  But what is revival?  It's a "shaking of the natural order" so that people will take their eyes off of this world, and lift their eyes to a higher power!  The Psalmist says in Psalm 121:1-2, "I lift my eyes to the hills---where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth."  Well, guess what folks, I have no doubt that God has allowed this moment to shake the world, and cause it to lift its eyes to a Help that is greater than itself!  God is giving us the opportunity for revival! And in this time of technology, He's also given us the means to carry it out!  Think about it, had this happened 25 years ago, many would be stuck at home without any way of communicating but our old land-line phones.  But today, social media is providing a way to communicate the Gospel to a world that's being shaken!!!  In fact, this past Sunday, at least 300 saw our services online, and some of them were folks who don't attend church!  I have no doubt that in the weeks to come, that number will grow!

So here's a simple challenge.   Get the word out!  Let's use the technology we're blessed with to advance the Kingdom in an even greater way.  Think about your friends who don't attend church, or who might attend a church that can't livestream their services.  Invite them to share in our Worship on Sunday mornings in the comfort of their own homes.  This past Sunday one of our members couldn't get her website to work, so she went to a neighbor's house to see if they could help.  They did, and this neighbor, who doesn't attend church, watched the service with her!  HA!   That's a great trick!   But God used that moment, didn't He?

So this week, let's get the Word out and bring good news to so many who need it!  You and I have what this world desperately needs, and God's not about to let this moment be wasted by giving it to Satan to use for his evil purpose.  Neither should we!!!

May HE richly bless you and our Church family, for such a time as this!

- Pastor David
